Guide Michelin: 2 stars

Chef Konstantin Filippou is influenced by his childhood; he grew up in Graz as a son of an Austrian mom and a Greek dad. His mom enjoyed the Austrian and regional food while his dad’s cuisine was rooted in Mediterranean fish and sea-food. Apart from his childhood influences, Konstantin has also done stints at for instance Steirereck (Vienna), Gordon Ramsey (London) and Arzak (San Sebastian). With this multicultural background, his food is usually described as a blend of the tastes of Austria with the aromas of the Mediterranean.
The restaurant is located in a business district of Vienna’s Altstad.
The interior of restaurant Konstantin Filippou is modern and friendly. Dark colors, minimal wall decorations and light elements set the atmosphere.
Konstantin’s frank cuisine is characterized by a big passion for ingredients.
We went for the tasting menu:
In summary: I enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant and had a pleasant evening, but do not think it is 2-stars (Guide Michelin) standard on the food. At least not in my book, but obviously in the Guide Michelin one… 😉
